First off, there’s a fun little meme going through the livejournal community. Here’s mine if anybody is curious of how lame I was at sixteen.
Second off, I ordered business cards. I feel like a pro. I bought a snazzy little business card holder around Christmas and now I’ll finally be able to put it into use!
Third off, Flickr is being a huge pain. Is really that hard to upload? Why must you torture me so, Flickr? *shakes fist*
And now my real post.

My sister’s BFA Thesis show was this past friday along with several art buddies of mine. As you can see, she’s the blue hair wonder from my Tandem image (see sidebar image). She thinks I drew her face too fat. I think she’s too opinionated. My blog + final say = I win.

She managed to put together a show containing 14 images in almost one semester! I’m impressed; mine took the whole year for just the focal point of what I did. Too much work and stress for undergraduate.
Also, my friend Erin Dooley built a house and created an installation for all of her artwork. Crazy, but very awe-inspiring when you see it in person. It’s hard to grasp by photos what it’s like to see a 9′x 9′ house inside a gallery space and then walk inside to see its work:

Here’s other student work I saw:

Sculptures by Anna Miller

Metals by Rhiannon McCafferty. They’re pretty cool up close. Unfortunately my flash would ruin any good photo opp since they’re shiny.
I have more on my Flickr. Feel free to look.
Other than that…
*I’ve got some fun projects I’ve been tinkering around with. I may show some of it in the next post, but it might also get put on the back burner as I finish other projects (like that Tandem silkscreen) and scholarship stuff.
*The website will be updated and the art sections reorganized. I want to separate what’s undergraduate, post graduation and soon to be graduate school art. Boring? Yes, but important for me to mention.
*Called the graduate school about housing. When I toured, there was this house they recently bought with the idea that years later they’ll use the land for building/parking space. In the meantime they’ll lease it out to married couples and graduates for considerably cheaper than the spaces around the school. Anyway, there’s a good chance I’ll get to stay there and the possible roommate will be someone from Germany. Awesome. Germans unite. And they might partially furnish the house to accommodate her. More awesome.
I guess that’s all. I’ll report back later this week
